Maksim’s practice focuses on commercial and criminal cases in the maritime industry. He represented major regional entrepreneurs and shipping companies. Since the privatisation era of the 1990s, he has remained one of the leading legal professionals in Russia’s Far East. Admitted to the Bar of the Russian Federation. Among his notable achievements is a landmark victory on behalf of a major shipowner in a case against the Governor of Primorsky Krai. Maksim also brings unique GR expertise to the team, including first-hand experience in negotiations with high-ranking federal officials.

Representative Experience
- Secured the release of crew members and the vessel from arrest in a case arising from an oil spill with claims exceeding $7 million.
- Traced and ensured the return of thousands of 40ft containers lost by a foreign container operator across Russia.
- Acted as an expert witness in a major arbitration dispute at the IDRC (London) arising from a voyage charter party governed by English law. In this matter, prepared a legal opinion on war risks and the security of Russian seaports in the first half of 2022.
- Represented a client in a bank fraud case, uncovering sham transactions, unauthorised withdrawals, and falsification of documents.
